‘How to Survive High School’ Calming Recordings
‘How to Survive High School’ is a series of calm recordings to listen to in this crazy, mixed up, sometimes chaotic world. Designed to keep calm and relaxed, and to help you ease some of the stress of high school. These recordings can be listened to here on the ThisLife website, and can also be found on Spotify for whenever you need to take a bit of time to slow down.

‘Thin End of The Wedge’ Film
Trigger Warning: this film is uncensored and some might fight the language graphic and offensive and themes unsuitable for children.
This film was made in collaboration with Year 11 girls in a NE school. Their experiences are not unique and sadly these are everyday occurrences in all of our secondary schools.
Shown at a Roundtable Event marking 2025 16 Days of Action Against Violence Against Women and Girls and later shared on Facebook, the response has been overwhelming.
This powerful film is purposefully not censored as the comments are true, current and need to be urgently acknowledged and addressed.
The Department of Education has requested a copy of the film and the BBC made a series of news items based on the girls’ experiences on BBC Look North.

‘Thin End of The Wedge’ Conference
Sunderland Fire Station 18th November 2026 9-1.30pm
Hosted by ThisLife Collective and Impact Family Services

As a result of the interest and viral response to our film “Breaking The Silence” we are hosting a conference for young women in November this year. We will post updates as and when more information becomes available. The objective is to galvanise young women and share their experiences with local decision makers, including invitees such as local MPs, the Mayor and Police and Crime Commissioner. We are also inviting MALE senior leadership team members from each school to encourage them to educate boys into being Active Bystanders.

‘How To Survive High School’ Book
We are currently working on a journal / self help workbook which will be published later this year. It will be available as both an e-book and a paperback (A4). The book was written and compiled in collaboration with several young people we work with who are currently navigating High School. All activities, advice and information respond directly to the real life issues they face.
We will add updates as we go, both on this website and on our social media pages.
